Why does everyone blame the government for every issue that happens to them? Why must we blame the President for every lost job or high gas prices? America has to be one of the most ignorant, selfish countries in the world. In today's society no one wants to own up to their own failures in life so they always look for someone to blame. I think there is certain things the government messes up on but they are not your daddy! Most of the issues America faces is the citizens own fault. I know everyone likes to play the victim and get others to feel sorry for them but this has got to stop.

People angry about abortions saying they are bad and immoral killing an innocent life. Yeah well truth is if we were to teach our daughters and sons how to be responsible and respect themselves to keep their legs close we wouldn't be having this issue putting the blame on our, once great nation for allowing such a devious action to occur. Citizens get angry about violence and crime and expect for our President to keep us safe. Well newsflash people he can only do so much. It is OUR job to be the best we can be and teach our kids good values, hard work, how to love or at least respect one another not to be hurtful and cruel.

People get upset about the government helping out the poor too much or not helping them enough. Again easy issue that could be resolved with hard work and dedication. We are one of the laziest countries and it is unbelievable knowing we have every possibility to be whatever we dream to be. If everyone played a small part simply by trying to better oneself we could go a long way.

I am not defending the government because I don't agree completely with everything they do. But I am tired of seeing this country get worst and worst just because we can't take care of our own responsibilities. There is only so much Congress, and the President can do for us we have to do for ourselves now and work hard to give our kids and their kids a better future than the one we have for us now.

I would have to agree with some of Iram's blog, Sonogram requirement gives potential Texas mothers an appropriate pause. I think the new law on making woman have a sonogram before any type of procedure to remove a fetus is a great idea. Even if a woman doesn't change her mind after the sonogram I believe it would at least help her healing process better knowing she thought her decision through and knew it was the best one. I personally am not against abortions I feel like every woman is entitled to doing whatever they please with their bodies. This subject is such a sensitive subject to a lot of people but especially to those who have had a procedure done or know someone who has because no one knows what is best for yourself other than yourself. So for someone to say it is wrong and people shouldn't do it doesn't really help the situation. If people who oppose it would spend more time and energy doing other productive things like trying to push people to have safe sex or abstinence a lot of these issues could be resolved. Yeah it is true that some of these fetus if given the chance they could of been great men like Steve Jobs but they could also grew into men like Ariel Castro the Cleveland kidnapper. My point is no one knows what the life of those fetus could have been so we shouldn't base our opinions on abortions on that. Again I agree with having a sonogram prior the procedure to give woman a chance to think things through and decide if going through with the procedure is the best decision for herself.

Same sex marriage is recognized in fourteen out of fifty states in our country. A country also known as the promise land where citizens are suppose to have rights and be equal to one another. Yet two individuals of the same gender can't be joined as one because the federal government does not believe it is constitutional. President Barack Obama is the first sitting president to publicly declare support for the legalization of same sex civil marriage, which of course made conservatives go crazy.
What is the big deal about allowing two people of the same sex join in matrimony. They should be able to have the same benefits as any heterosexual marrying. This would extend a civil right to a minority group. An American history scholar, Nancy Cott argues that "there really is no comparison, because there is nothing like marriage except marriage."
Opponents of same sex marriage ground their arguments on parenting concern, religious concerns, concerns that would change the definition of marriage that could lead to incest or polygamy. All which comes to one simple conclusion  if you do not agree with it don't deal with it. If you don't like people who are homosexuals or think it is against your religion then don't be around them. But it is not fair that because certain people disagree with something that has no affect in their personal life what so ever others have to sacrifice tremendously.
The gay community isn't asking for the American flag to be changed to a rainbow one all they want is the same respect and rights any other individual demands. They deserve to be able to be under their spouses health plan or inherit any property if one was to pass. Same sex marriage doesn't have to accepted by everyone but it should simply be respected and be treated like any other marriage.
